Perfect Night For A Picnic Downtown Warsaw
It was a perfect evening for a picnic in downtown Warsaw for First Friday.
There were hot dogs, pulled pork and ribs, kettle corn, sushi, pan Asian food, and of course watermelon and homemade ice cream. You could even decorate your own cookie, get a slice of homemade nut breads or get a bag of popcorn.
It was also an evening where the country came to the city, with a number of antique tractors, and garden tractors on display by members of the Echoes of the Past
Echoes of the Past members were kept busy keeping up with the demand of home made ice cream. By 7:30 p.m. the last of the ice cream was being churned by the 1950 Farmall. All total the group made 30 gallons.
What picnic is fun without games. Big Brothers Big Sisters hosted a variety of fun games – bowling, putting, ladder golf and more. You could get your face painted by Harmonie the clown and decorate a shoe for BBBS current campaign “300 Shoe Can Make a Difference,” an effort to get 300 volunteers in 90 days.
Church groups were present as well as a number of organizations, including the Warsaw Inquiry Learning Lab.
Many gathered around to hear guitarist Patrick Wood with the evening closing with the group Plaxton and the Void on the center stage.
Groups of First Fridaygoers sat around picnic tables, city benches, or on the courthouse lawn and steps to enjoy the evening.
The theme for the August First Friday event will soon be announced.
