BMV Announces New Director Of Program Management
Kent Abernathy, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, announced that a new director of program management, Manuel “Manny” Mendez, is starting with the agency today.
Mendez comes to the BMV from the city of Indianapolis where he most recently served as Mayor Greg Ballard’s director of the department of code enforcement. He was with the city for the past seven years.
“We are thrilled to have Manny join the BMV,” said Abernathy. “His background and skillset fit perfectly with our agency goal of making the Indiana BMV the most efficient and trustworthy motor vehicle agency in the country.”
Mendez earned his Bachelor of Arts Management from Indiana Wesleyan. He served in the United States Army from 1983-1992 and is a veteran of the first Gulf War serving in Operation Desert Storm. Mendez is also Six Sigma Black Belt Certified.
