TVSC To Vote On Hiring New Principal Monday
After the recent resignation of Mentone Elementary School Principal Angie Miller, Tippecanoe Valley School will vote Monday evening to approve a recommendation from Superintendent Brett Boggs to hire Randy Dahms, former principal of Leesburg Elementary.
According to Boggs, Miller recently accepted a position as curriculum coordinator with Caston School Corporation. Miller, who has been employed by TVS for the past 17 years, also served as curriculum director with TVS in the past. Due to budget constraints, the position was eliminated and Miller assumed her most recent position with the corporation as the Mentone Elementary principal.
“She enjoyed being an elementary school principal, but her heart was always with the role of curriculum director,” explained Boggs in an email. “Her resignation was effective June 30. Mrs. Miller has been an outstanding employee for Tippecanoe Valley. She will be missed. We wish her all the best in her new role with Caston.”
Boggs noted the position for Mentone Elementary principal was posted shortly after receiving Miller’s resignation on June 10. A total of 20 applicants applied for the position with four interviewed. Out of the four interviewed, Dahms was chosen to be recommended to the school board for approval on July 13.
