Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:05 p.m. Thursday, July 9, South SR 19, south of West CR 100S, Mentone. Driver: Brittney Stump, 27, North Franklin Street, Mentone. Stump lost control of her vehicle, went off the road and struck an REMC pole. Damage up to $10,000.
3:04 a.m. Thursday, July 9, South SR 15 and South CR 150W, Warsaw. Driver: Derek A. Brock, 26, South Arnold Street, Roann. Brook complained of pain to the neck and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Brock’s vehicle went off the road hit a large utility pole, breaking it off at the ground. Damage up to $25,000.
12:15 a.m. Thursday, July 9, West US 30, west of North SR 19, Etna Green. Driver: Roseanna L. Monnier, 21, Jeffrey Drive, Columbia City. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
3:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, North Marine Key Drive and North Majestic Way, Syracuse. Drivers: Nicole L. Smith, 44, North SR 5, Larwill, and Kim E. Cox, 30, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Cox, who was driving a Kosciusko County Highway vehicle had yellow caution lights activated before backing the vehicle. Cox began to back the truck, when it struck the Smith vehicle which had been driven up behind that vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:39 p.m. Sunday, July 5, North Kalorama Road, south of EMS T37 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Elizabeth A. McClain, 61, Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne. Injured: McClain suffered road rash on both legs; Michael Himes, 70, Heron Preserve Trail, Fort Wayne, a front seat passenger, suffered lacerations to his head; Maryann Gerken, 60, Rygate Drive, Renoldsburg, Ohio, a back driver side passenger, complained of neck and back pain. They were all transported to KCH. Jeff Gerken,59, Rygate Drive, Renoldsburg, Ohio, a back middle passenger, complained of pain to the heck and was taken to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. McClain was traveling south on Kalorama Road in a golf cart, when it hit some loose gravel, causing her to lose control. The golf court overturned, pinning McClain under the golf cart and throwing the others off the vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:34 p.m. Sunday, July 5, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: Richard L. Grossman, 30, West CR 400N, Etna Green, and Dustin M. Boardman, 30, Collamer Road, South Whitley. Grossman was backing his vehicle from a shared drive and did not see Boardman’s vehicle entering the driveway. Damage up to $5,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:08 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, Main Street, north of Emeline Street, Milford. Drivers: Robert W. Brown, 90, West Catherine Street, Milford, and Rodney A. Coy, 47, South Main Street, Milford. Brown was backing from a parking space, cutting his turn too short and hitting the parked Coy vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, SR 13 and Walnut Street, Pierceton. Drivers: Ascencion Salinas, 57, South CR 950W, Pierceton, and Ethel L. Baker, 38, South CR 500E, Warsaw. Baker complained of pain to the neck and was transported to an area hospital. Salinas’ vehicle struck the back of the Baker vehicle. Salinas cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:28 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, North Parkway Drive, south of West Carroll Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Annette Christner, 26, Woodlane Drive, Toledo, Ohio, and Jeanette R. Reed, 72, Redspire Boulevard, Goshen. Christner was backing out of a parking space and did not see the Reed vehicle behind her. Damage up to $1,000.
12:23 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, North Indiana Avenue and East CR 1400N, Syracuse. Drivers: Fredrick E. Morey, 51, CR 22, Goshen, and Debra L. Bissell, 62, North Hickory Street East, North Webster. Bissell complained of pain to the neck. She was treated at the scene. Morey thought the Bissell vehicle in front of him was turning right, moving his vehicle closer to the center of the road to go around, when Bissell turned left. Morey tried to lay the motorcycle down, but slid into the driver’s side of Bissell’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:31 p.m. Thursday, July 9, Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: Kelly J. Tschantz, 51, Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw, and Christi S. Staley, 41, EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw. Tschantz was backing from a parking space failing to see the Staley vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:13 p.m. Thursday, July 9, Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: James W. Ratliff, 24, North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Ratliff cited for driving while suspended. Ratliff did not realize his vehicle was too tall to drive under the sign at The Pill Box, scrapping the roof against the sign. Damage up to $10,000.
10:17 a.m. Thursday, July 9, South Buffalo Street, north of Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Karl D. Reger, 24, Ross Street, New Castle, and Dakota R. Fuller, 19, South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Reger was attempting to locate the street signs and entered the intersection, not seeing the traffic signal, which was red. When he attempted to stop, his vehicle slid through the intersection hitting the Fuller vehicle which had entered the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
8:26 a.m. Thursday, July 9, SR 15, south of Winona Avenue. Warsaw. Drivers: Alyssa N. Gaerte, 21, West CR 1300S, Silver Lake, and Lisa M. Turnpaugh, 25, Alber Street, Wabash. Gaerte’s vehicle slid into the back of the Turnpaugh vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
5:31 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, North SR 15, north of Shelden Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brett N. Carson, 18, North CR 300E, Milford. Carson’s vehicle slid into the back of another vehicle. The other driver exited the vehicle, looked at his vehicle, then drove away. Damage up to $2,500.
4:31 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, East Center Street and North Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Belinda L. Cole,54, Ellsworth St., Warsaw; Drew S. Schramm, 21, East Steven Drive, Warsaw; and Douglas E. Shilling, 60, South CR 250W, Silver Lake. Cole’s vehicle struck the back of the Schramm vehicle, which was pushed into the Shilling vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
8:29 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, Detroit Street and East Pope Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Verl B. Kreis, 90, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool, and Olivia A. James Self, 22, Kinney Drive, Warsaw. Kreis failed to see the James vehicle before proceeding into the intersection. Self complained of pain to the neck and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:03 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, Kings Highway and Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Patricia K. Minear, 48, Pierceton Road, Winona Lake. Minear’s vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle. The other driver left the scene. Damage up to $1,000.
