Voice Winner Headlining Free Concert

Season six The Voice winner and Indianapolis-native soul singer-songwriter Josh Kaufman will bring his signature smooth, masterful vocals to Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, 4200 N. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, at 8 p.m. Friday, July 17. The show will feature support from The Devonshires, performing at 7 p.m.
Kaufman will join the members of the 1954 Indiana State Championship basketball team from Milan High School, the team that inspired the movie “Hoosiers,” as the honorary chairmen for the Indiana Derby. Dani Mathers, 2015 Playmate of the Year, will also make a special appearance.
The concert is free. Parking and general admission are free and free seating is available trackside on a first come, first serve basis.

The 21st running of the Indiana Derby will head the racing card that includes six stakes totaling more than $1 million. Racing begins at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, July 18. The Indiana Derby will be contested as the ninth race on the card with an estimated post time of 9:41 p.m. The Indiana Oaks will be held as race eight with an estimated post time of 9:11 p.m.
The Indiana Grand National Racing Festival begins Thursday, July 16 and leads up to Indiana Derby Night. A total of 12 stakes will be held over a four day period with purses topping $1.4 million.
