Indiana Cousins Combine Fashion And Philanthropy In Business Venture
Two Indiana cousins have created a new and unique line of women’s clothing that’s not only cute and fun for the purchaser, but also helps people in need.
Co-founders of Zella Mae Inspirations Tashina Baer and Brooke Fattal began with a goal of pairing a passion for fashion with philanthropy. They launched the company in April, selling shirts and bags with inspirational sayings such as “Live your dream,” “Radiate positivity,” “Love your life” and “Good things are going to happen.”
Their motto is “Wear Happy, Share Happy.” For every item purchased from the company, a shirt with a positive message will be donated to a charitable organization. The donated shirts read “I am brave, strong, smart, kind and awesome.”
Since its inception, the company has donated over 300 shirts to charities including the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, Camp Saturday Brave Heart for burn survivors and Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
The Zella Mae products are available for purchase online at www.zellamaeinspirations.com. Baer and Fattal are also working on expanding their sales to select retail locations. So far those include The Tulip Company & More and Modern Charm in Terre Haute and Tatum’s Place Boutique in Marshall, Illinois.
