Warsaw All-Stars Eye State Tourney
WARSAW – The Warsaw Little League Major All-Star team already has one championship to its credit.
The team will shoot for a state title starting Saturday.
The Warsaw squad, managed by Ryan Weaver, opens pool play in the 15-team state tournament field in Jasper.
Warsaw won the District 14 tournament championship by beating Goshen 12-2 in the title game.
Warsaw is scheduled to play host Jasper Saturday at noon in its first pool play game. The team then will play Brownsburg on Sunday at 4 p.m. and finish pool play versus Wabash on Monday at 4 p.m. The top four teams in each pool advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The semifinals are set for Wednesday with the championship game next Thursday.
The winner of the Indiana state championship earns a berth in the Great Lakes Regional. The regional champion moves on to the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.
The Warsaw team includes Anthony Foust, Luke Adamiec, Austin Slone, Lukas Maier, Micah Colbert, Zack Weaver, Jordan Diaz, Nicholas Luna, Joe Springer, Jacob Denzer, Kevin Cruz, Brock Poe, Lucas Wrenn and Caden Graham.
Weaver is the manager of the team with Nate Maier and Rob Springer coaches for the squad.
