South Africa Children’s Choir To Perform Locally
Kuyasa is a Xhosa word meaning “sun rising.” It is also the name of a special children’s choir and dance team from South Africa that will be performing in Warsaw next week.
The Kuyasa Kids choir is comprised of children who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. They are from Kayamundi Township near Capetown South Africa.
Kayamundi is home to 28,000 members of the Xhosa tribe. Through the singing and dancing of the Kuyasa Kids, hope is being generated for thousands of other children and youth who have become orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
The concert is taking place at First Christian Church, located at 115 Pheasant Ridge Dr., Warsaw, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
The public is invited to enjoy the evening of authentic singing and dancing, choreographed by a former choir member who is now the artistic director for the children’s choir.
Attendees can enjoy the free concert, but a “love offering” will be received and there will be the opportunity to sponsor a HIV/AIDS orphan from five southern African countries devastated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
