9/11 Never Forget Exhibit Arrives At Elkhart County 4-H Fair
GOSHEN — Experiencing trouble on the toll road, with what was reported as two shredded tires, the 9/11 Never Forget Exhibit arrived at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair two hours behind schedule. While the fanfare for its arrival was not as grand as originally planned, their arrival was spectacular none the less.
Goshen City Police led the group followed by The Axemen Firefighters Motorcycle club from Indiana, then fire units from Nappanee, Concord, Elkhart Township, Osolo Township, Osceola and Middlebury fire departments led the large semi trailer into the fairgrounds under the Garrison Flag held above the road by Goshen Fire Department and Elkhart Township Fire Department ladder trucks.
The group made a quick stop at the grandstand before heading over to the south of Building A where it will be displayed and tours given by FDNY firefighters.
This exhibit is a tribute to all whose lives were sacrificed that day, educating America’s youth about the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The exhibit includes pieces of the Twin Towers, documentary videos, and recordings of radio transmissions.
The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 through Friday, July 31.
