Commissioners Approve $25 Fee To Opt Out Of GIS
WARSAW — Kosciusko County Commissioners voted to allow certain individuals to pay a $25 fee to have their names removed from the county Global Information System maps.
The decision came during their regular meeting Tuesday morning, July 28. The option will be open to law enforcement officers, government officials and victims of domestic violence and does not include members of the general public.
The fee was initially set at $50, however concern was expressed that some may find the fee to be burdensome. The commissioners did not remove the fee altogether because of administrative costs involved. It was also pointed out that the names will still appear on Google and other online map services.
