Lester L. Shand
Lester L. Shand, 89 of Warsaw, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, in Parkview Regional medical Center, Fort Wayne.
On Jan. 3, 1926, he was born in Warsaw, to William and Linney (Sell) Shand. Lester was one of seven children. He was united in marriage to Beulah Marie Stanley on Dec. 20, 1944. She preceded him in death on Jul 22, 1997.
Lester worked in maintenance for Endicott Church Furniture and then worked as a foreman for Laminated Rafters. He then worked as a machinist for DePuy, retiring in 1991.
He was the loving father of daughters: Judy K. Gallaher, Burnettsville; Joyce (Randy) Hardesty, Rochester; and sons: Stanley (Celia) Shand, Lafayette; and Steven (Wanda) Shand, Fort Wayne. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren: Shannon M. Smith; Shane L. (Summer) Smith; Blake E. (Molly) Hardesty; Shelby L. Livengood; Tiffanie D. (Jason) Bolen; Kimberly K. (Travis) Coffey; Skipper S. (Amy) Shand; Shelley A. (Todd) Swymeler; 17 great-grandchidlren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons: Matthew S. Hardesty; and Seth A. Shand.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating of Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, in the funeral chapel.
