TinCaps The Comeback Kids Tuesday [VIDEO]

FORT WAYNE – The TinCaps returned home on Tuesday night with a come-from-behind victory over the Dayton Dragons, 6-5, at Parkview Field. The game featured runs in only three innings, but three lead changes.
With his team trailing 5-3 and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning and two outs, Luis Tejada bashed a triple deep to center field off Dragons reliever Ty Sterner (L, 1-1) that cleared the bases and gave the home team the lead for good.
There was plenty of excitement right from opening pitch. The first four Dayton (16-16, 55-47) hitters reached base in the top of the first, and the visitors quickly nabbed a 2-0 lead.
But Fort Wayne (17-15, 49-51) was a bit better in the bottom half of the frame. The first six Fort Wayne hitters reached against starter Wyatt Strahan. Ruddy Giron, Franmil Reyes and Franchy Cordero all drove in runs to help take a 3-2 edge. The 18-year-old Giron had his second four-hit night in five days.
The Dragons plated two runs in the fourth inning after two TinCaps throwing errors. Dayton stretched its lead to 5-3 at the time after Ty Washington’s run-scoring double.
Perhaps Tejada’s big knock in the sixth inning should’ve have come as a surprise surprise. He finished Tuesday’s game 3-for-3, reaching base four times, and is now hitting .463 over his last 11 games.
T.J. Wier (W, 4-3) came into the game with his team trailing in the fifth inning. The Kokomo, Ind., native struck out three in three scoreless innings and picked up the win.
Yimmi Brasoban hurled a scoreless eighth and Colby Blueberg secured the save in the ninth, his Eastern Division-leading 14th of the season.
Game two of the three-game series is at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Wayne sends right-hander Chris Huffman (4-6, 3.77) to the hill to face Dragons righty Tejay Antone (5-7, 2.95). You can catch the action on Comcast Network 81 starting at 7:00 p.m. or listen in on ESPN Radio 1380, TinCaps.com, and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 6:45.
