Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:50 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the intersection of East 1300N and North 775 East, Syracuse. Driver: Jack D. Cowan, 42, North Ogden Point Road, Syracuse. Going through a curve, Cowan lost control of his vehicle and left the road, striking a speed limit sign and a NIPSCO utility pole. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
8:59 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the intersection of North Detroit Street and Chevy Way, Warsaw. Drivers: Gregory J. Handel, 40, East Willis Park Road, North Webster, and Riley M. Krajewski, 25, North Blue Heron Drive, Warsaw. Handel stopped at a stop sign and thought all traffic had passed. He proceeded into the intersection and was struck by Krajewski’s oncoming moped. Krajewski was knocked from the moped and suffered cuts on her left leg, but refused medical treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
2:32 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the intersection of Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Adelie Belton, 37, West Briar Place, Chicago, Ill., and Sergio Juarez, 35, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Belton did not notice traffic in front of her had stopped for a traffic light and she collided with Juarez’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
11:38 a.m. Friday, July 31, at the intersection of East Main Street and North Grant Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kimberley L. Kamp, 28, East Clark Street, Warsaw and Tyler M. Swain, 19, North 175E, Warsaw. Kamp failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Swain’s vehicle. Kamp went off the road, damaging two street signs. Both cars had to be towed. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000
