Lyle D. Zorger
Lyle D. Zorger, age 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday July 31, 2015, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born on April 1, 1932, he was the son of Dewey Emmanuel and Bessie (Studer) Zorger.
Lyle was a lifetime resident of Allen and Whitley Counties and attended Jefferson Center High School. On Aug. 15, 1964, Lyle married Maxine M. Selking at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Lyle spent his life working as a grain and livestock farmer and as a school bus driver for Southwest Allen County Schools for 41 years. Lyle regularly attended Dunfee Missionary Church in Dunfee, and The Chapel in Fort Wayne. In his early years Lyle enjoyed raccoon hunting, but always remained an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his daughter: Kelly Jean Zorger, Fort Wayne; a sister: Jean (Earl) Auld, Avilla; and brothers: Norman (Gloria) Zorger; and Keith (Donna) Zorger, both of Spencerville. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dewey and Bessie Zorger; wife: Maxine Zorger, in 2011; and brothers: Lavern; Marvin; and Jerry Zorger.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home with calling one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions in memory of Lyle may be made to Visiting Hospice Home or to Dunfree Missionary Church.
