James ‘Jim’ C. Craft
James “Jim” C. Craft, 59, of rural Rochester, passed Saturday evening, Aug. 1, 2015, after a motorcycle accident involving a deer in Macy.
He was born in Rochester on Sept. 19, 1955, to James C. and Carol (Holloway) Craft, and worked for Paragon Medical in Pierceton. He had previously worked for Topp Industries, Rochester.
He was a 1974 graduate of Mentone High. He had also attended Ivy Tech of Warsaw, Ind. for machinist certifications. His passion was riding his 2008 Yamaha Road Star motorcycle. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his brothers throughout their lives.
He is survived by his mother: Carol Feltis, Rochester; daughters: Christina (Kevin) McVay, Rochester; Celia (David) Johnson, Pensacola, Fla.; son: Mike Craft; six grandchildren; brothers: Daniel (Debra) Craft, Akron; Chuck (Jan) Craft, Huntertown; five nieces; one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father: James Craft; and his stepfather: David Feltis.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with services at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, also at the funeral home, officiated by Lay Leader Michael Walters. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rochester.
