Milford Valley Launches ‘Art Of Chicken’ Photo Contest
MILFORD — Milford Valley has launched the 2015 “Art of Chicken” Photo Contest with a grand prize of $5,000. The contest offers artists and non-artists alike an opportunity to win big for their shareable photographs that feature Milford Valley packaging used in a unique and non-traditional way. Entries will be accepted Aug. 1 through Sept. 30, on the Milford Valley Facebook contest page.
The contest challenges entrants to submit original photographs that capture the Milford Valley brand or are part of a larger dining experience using all or part of at least one actual (physical) Milford Valley retail product package. Entries may incorporate other materials as long as the packaging is the main feature.
“From a shopper wearing a dress made from Milford Valley ‘film’ packaging, a diorama of a farm stand selling Milford Valley products and an homage to artist Andy Warhol using Milford Valley packages — we were impressed with the creative entries last year,” said Milford Valley Marketing Director Carmen Darland. “It is great to see customers interact with the brand and the packaging to create works of art.”
Entrants will compete for a total of $6,750 in cash prizes. The grand prize is $5,000, second place is $1,000 and third place is $500. The People’s Choice prize of $250 will be awarded to the entry with the popular vote from the public. Voting will take place Oct. 1 to Oct. 15, on the Facebook contest page.
All entries will be judged based on their representation of the Milford Valley brand or products, as well as creativity and originality. The decision of the judging panel will be final.
The Milford Valley brand is a product of the Chicken Division of Maple Leaf Farms. The brand is produced at Serenade Foods in Milford.
The “Art of Chicken” contest is open to legal residents of the United States and Washington, D.C., who are 18 years old or older.
