Warsaw Ranked Ninth In Medical Device Hubs
A national publication’s economic rankings report, has listed Warsaw as the ninth top medical device hub.
Business Facilities, the source for corporate site selectors, has published it’s 11th annual rankings report for metro and global rankings. The rankings include 26 different categories.
According to the list, Warsaw is ranged behind Minneapolis, Minn.; Boston, Mass.; San Jose, Calif.; Los Angeles, Calif.; San Diego, Calif.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Chicago, Ill.; and Raleigh-Durham, N.C. The 10th ranked city is Cleveland, Ohio.
Their listings note the University of Minnesota’s Medical Devices Center is a location to connect engineers and scientists, clinical physicians and surgeons to develop solutions to healthcare problems. Boston, the second-ranked, has one of the two largest medical device manufacturers/companies in the world headquartered in Boston — Boston Scientific, a significant contributor to the medtech industry.
Neighboring counties/cities are also listed in other categories in the rankings.
Elkhart County is listed as second in the advanced manufacturing specialization. Two other Indiana cities: Columbus and Kokomo rank first and third.
The cities of Elkhart and Goshen have also been placed as fourth in the ranking’s export leaders. Other Indiana cities in this category include Columbus, first; Lafayette-West Lafayette, fifth; and Kokomo, sixth.
