Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo at Milford Public Library
On Wednesday, July 29, Janet Haney, an education instructor at Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, presented a program introducing everyone to a few of the animals living at the Zoo. There were a total of 95 people in attendance that day. Haney brought five animals to show, two of them were animals the kids could touch and interact with. We had Tony, the salamander; Ace, the blue-tongued skink; Kacey, a parrot from Africa; an empire scorpion; and shasta, the albino hedgehog. Children were able to pet Ace and Shasta.
Door prizes were given away at the end of the program. Thank you to all who came, Everyone always enjoys the animal programs, and this was no exception.
Friends of the Library
Do you have lots of books sitting around, cluttering your house? Why not donate them to the library for others to buy and read? The friends of the library welcomes all your donations of gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and sheet music. Feel free to go through our collection and purchase a few things as well. All proceeds go back to the library. The friends are also selling cloth book bags for $12. Come in and purchase a bag at the circulation desk upstairs and support your local library.
