Identity Of Drowning Victim Unknown
KENDALLVILLE — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is asking the public to help identify the male victim recovered in Bixler Lake, in Kendallville, Tuesday evening.
An autopsy was performed at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 26. The victim is a white male, approximately 50 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 170 pounds. The unidentified male has an “Aryan Nation” tattoo on the right side of his abdomen.
When members of the Orange Township Volunteer Fire Department located his body, he was wearing underwear, a black T-shirt and a blue hooded sweatshirt. No identification was found on the victim at the time of recovery.
The victim was recovered at approximately 11:50 p.m. Tuesday evening. A search began for the victim at 5:36 p.m. when Noble County Dispatch received a call of witnesses observing a person calling for help while swimming near the southwest side of the lake. Witnesses observed the person go under the water and not resurface.
