Homeless Black Bear May Be Back In Indiana
NEW CARLISLE – DNR says a black bear that can’t seem to make up its mind on a new home, may have wandered back to Indiana. The report came early in the week that the bear, who has gone back and forth between Indiana and Michigan all summer, might have damaged a bird feeder and left droppings behind in a subdivision on the southwest side of New Carlisle.
The bear seems to get around. Last week, DNR reported that it may have been behind damage to a beehive in New Buffalo, Mich.
Until this summer, it had been more than a hundred years since a black bear had been spotted in Indiana.
