MudLOVE Combines Bikes And Brews For Good Cause
INDIANAPOLIS — Combining a love for communion, cycling, craft beers and helping those in need, MudLOVE is currently making plans for an exciting fundraiser in Indianapolis this weekend.
The event, titled “Tour De Brew,” will invite cyclists of all skill levels to partake on an organized ride throughout Indianapolis to sample Hoosier breweries while raising funding for Water For Good — an organization that helps provide clean drinking water to one of the world’s most neglected and unstable countries, the Central African Republic.
According to Paul Drisbach of MudLOVE, the event will offer riders varying routes spanning between 20 to 40 miles. Riders will have the opportunity to fundraise either on their own or as part of a team. The money raised will go directly to Water For Good.
Though this is the first event in Indianapolis, Drisbach noted races have been held in other cities. After a huge success in Raleigh, N.C. that saw approximately 450 riders who helped raise $27K, the event is coming to Indianapolis as well as Portland, Ore.; Columbus, Ohio; and Durham, N.C.
On the Hoosier homefront, the ride will help to highlight the craft beer scene throughout downtown Indianapolis as well as through Broadripple. A raffle for a donated bike will be held as well as children’s games and a kid friendly bike course. The event will be followed by an after party that will feature the tunes of Beyond Normal Sea.
Drisbach noted those interested in partaking in the ride may do so by signing up on the Tour De Brew website. Riders are asked to select the city they will participate in and create their own fundraising page to share with family and friends. The more riders raise the higher level of milestones they will reach. Incentives include beer vouchers and MudLOVE items. Those uncomfortable with fundraising are invited to simply donate to their own campaign with basic registration starting at $20.
For those not keen on cycling, MudLOVE invites guests to sign up to participate to share a few beers and enjoy festivities.
