Woman Takes Baseball Bat To Man
WARSAW — A woman who struck a friend’s husband has been arrested and charged with battery, while armed with a deadly weapon.
Shelli M. Holley, 37, 3699 N. 175E, Warsaw, was arrested Monday. She was held on $1,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
Documents were filed with the court on Aug. 28 by Kosciusko County Sheriff Deputy James Smith. Documents state on June 18, Smith responded to a call of a man being battered with a baseball bat. He saw Joshua Cone sitting on a couch with broken front teeth, red mark and swelling on the left side of his rib cage and his elbow area. Cone could not tell police what happened before being taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Kimberly Cone, who advised she and Joshua Cone are going through a divorce, stated she was at the residence of her friend, Shelli Holley, when Joshua Cone arrived to speak with her. Holley told him to leave and when he refused, Holley grabbed a metal baseball bat, hitting Cone.
Smith spoke with Joshua Cone’s mother, where he found Joshua Cone, who told police Kimberly Cone had contacted her and told her, her son had been struck with a baseball bat by Holley and he was not doing well. She told police when he arrived at her home, she realized he was not remembering things and what he was saying did not make sense. He did loose consciousness.
Holley admitted to police Kimberly Cone was at her residence when Joshua Cone arrived and demanded she go outside with him. However she stated Joshua Cone came into her home without her permission and had a verbal fight with Kimberly Cone. Holley stated she told Joshua Cone to leave and when he refused she grabbed the metal bat and started hitting him multiple times. She also stated after he left the house she followed him, continuing to hit him with the baseball bat.
