Jennifer L. Pierce
Jennifer L. Pierce, age 56, passed away suddenly on Aug. 31, 2015, in her home in Woodbridge, Va. Jenny was born on June 15, 1959 to Mark and Mary kosins in Warsaw. She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1977 and joined the Marines “to free a man to fight”.
Jenny left the Marine Corp in 1978 to marry fellow Marine, Gene Pierce, and begin their family, which included two children, Joshua and Desiree. They fell in love in 1977 and never fell out. She taught him how to love and how to be loved. They moved frequently over the next 37 years, following Gene’s career with 3M. Jenny made each house a home with her abundant love and comfortable style. She kept the family bonded, despite Gene’s frequent business trips. Jenny cared for Gene and the children like no one else could. After moving to Georgia, Jenny was saved and also helped Gene to be saved through her prayers.
Jenny cherished her role as wife and mother and felt this was her life’s purpose. She had a talent for cross-stitch and needlepoint. She loved antiquing and quality time with family. She was a warm and caring person, which only made it easier to love her. She loved life and everyone in it. Jenny made those around her feel special. She made the word a better place, and the world is now colder without her.
Jenny’s pride for her children never diminished. Her son Joshua Pierce married another Jennifer, creating much confusion among newcomers as well as much love. He is a SFC in the Army currently stationed in Germany. Her daughter Desiree Witt married Casey Witt and gave Jenny her only grandchild, Brandon. Jenny returned to her caretaker role when Desiree had a stroke while pregnant, causing partial paralysis. it would not surprise those that know her that she dropped everything to care for Desiree for four months while she recovered.
Jenny is survived by her husband: Gene Pierce; her children: Joshua Pierce; Desiree Witt; their spouses; grandson: Brandon; as well as her father: Marcus Kosins; and brothers: Marcus Kosins Jr.; Eric Kosins; Kevin Kosins; and Scot Kosins. She was preceded in death by her mother: Mary Elizabeth Kosins.
A memorial service for Jennifer will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Mountcastle Turch Funeral home, Dale City, Va. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations to the National Stroke Association.
