Woman Allegedly Stabs Man In Vehicle
MILFORD — An incident of motorists believing they recognized an individual on a moped ended up with one individual being stabbed, another being arrested for battery with a deadly weapon.
The victim, Lucas Howland suffered a laceration approximately one-inch in length below the shoulder blade.
Treesa Renee Metz, 20, 506 Turkey Creek Drive, Milford, was arrested Monday morning and charged with battery with a deadly weapon and held in the Kosciusko County Jail. Her bond was set at $10,250 surety/cash.
Preliminary court documents state sheriff’s officers were called to Old SR 15 and Turkey Creek Drive, Milford, at approximately 7:12 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, for a stabbing.
Police spoke with Lucas Howland, who went to Milford Police Department, who stated he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Samantha Bender. They were eastbound on Turkey Creek Drive when he saw a moped with a male driver and female passenger, who they thought they recognized. He stated Bender yelled at the individuals and then realized it was not who they originally thought.
Bender stopped the vehicle and the moped turned around and approached the vehicle. Bender recognized the female as Metz. Howland stated Metz got off the moped and approached the passenger side, stabbing Howland in the back with a knife. Neither Howland or Bender had exited the vehicle. Bender’s account of the incident was identical.
Metz came to the sheriff’s department on Monday, Sept. 7, and spoke with a sheriff’s deputy. Metz stated she was on Turkey Creek Drive and recognized Bender. She stated Howland exited the vehicle and came toward her, poking him with a knife.
Police were also told by William Lerner who stated earlier the evening of Sept. 6, Metz was at his residence acting crazy and stating she was going to kill someone. He had told her to leave and she was not welcome at his home.
