AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team lost a close match Wednesday to Pioneer.

Pioneer shot a 221 and the Vikings finished at 229 in the match contested at the Pond View Golf Couse near Star City.

Valley’s Liz VanMeter shared medalist honors with Brandi Sholty of Pioneer as each player finished with a 51.

Victoria Biddle was right behind VanMeter with a 52 for the Vikings.

Blake McBrier shot a 60 and Jade VanMeter a 66 for Valley.  Makayla Sandbakken had a 68 and Lexi Cumberland a 74.

Brianna McBrier shot a 78 and Jordan Krotke a 79 for Valley in junior varsity play.

Valley, now 7-9, will face North Miami and Maconaquah today at the Round Barn Golf Club in Rochester.
