Biddle Seventh, Valley And Whitko Back At TRC
HUNTINGTON – Victoria Biddle hung around near the leaders to highlight locals at the Three Rivers Conference Girls Golf Championship Saturday at Norwood Golf Club in Huntington.
Biddle, the No. 1 for the Tippecanoe Valley golf team, shot a 97 to finish in seventh place overall and take All-TRC honors. Valley, however, didn’t have another golfer in the top 20. Liz VanMeter finished with a 113, Blake McBrier had a 124, Makayla Sandbakken a 126 and Jade VanMeter a 132 to round out the Valley scores, compiling a 460 team score to place seventh in the team standings.
Whitko finished eighth overall with a 493. Claire Reiff led the Lady Wildcats with a 115, followed by Holly Hathaway at 116, Aurelia Slusher at 120, Makayla Compton at 142 and Alexys Rider at 168.
Southwood won the TRC tournament for the first time in the team’s history with a 387, 16 strokes better than runner-up Maconaquah. Manchester finished third at 424, followed by Northfield (429), Rochester (441), Peru (450), Valley, Whitko, North Miami (495) and Wabash (561).
Rochester’s Kinley Lingenfelter shot a 77 to take conference medalist honors.
Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko will take part in the Warsaw Girls Golf Sectional next Saturday at Stonehenge Golf Club.
