Lions Get Past Trojans
BOURBON – Bremen held off Triton, 3-2, Monday afternoon in boys tennis.
Triton earned a pair of wins in singles play, but a decisive win at one doubles put Bremen over. The No. 1 tandem of josh Ukinski and Jake Strehler worked together to claim a 7-6 (4) win in the first set and slowly wear down Dalton Bailey and Keygan Moiser in the second set, 6-2.
The win sealed up the win after the No. 2 doubles team of Chandler Snyder and Bryce Sterling swept Brenden Damron and Chase Butler love and love and No. 3 singles Carter Filchak knocked off Aaron Stichter four and love.
Triton earned its court wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, both by the Eads brothers. Gavin Eads held on for a 7-5, 6-1 win against Bryce Devine at one and Mace Eads rallied for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win against Zach Burkholder at two.
Bremen won both of the JV courts.
The win moves Bremen to 8-3 overall and the loss sends Triton to 4-9 overall. The Trojans will travel to LaVille Tuesday for a Hoosier North Athletic Conference match.
