White Powder Covers Indianapolis Neighborhood
INDIANAPOLIS — Residents of a neighborhood in Indianapolis awoke to fire officials and hazardous materials officials cleaning a white powder from their front lawn. The powder dusted a two-block radius in the 1700 block of South Moreland near Tibbs and Minnesota.
The powder came from a Vertellus plant that used too much of a powdery substance in order to quicken the process of what they were making. The overuse brought the powder up smokestacks on the facility, and carried them southeast in a two-block radius.
The powder is apparently harmless unless consumed in large quantities.
