Tippecanoe Valley Sports Wrap – Sept. 14
The Tippecaone Valley volleyball team topped Columbia City Monday night.
The Vikings posted the 25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-17 win in the non-conference match.
Lexi O’Connell and Abby Betten each slammed down 10 kills to pace the winners.
Betten also led the defense for the Vikings with 15 digs.
Emily Peterson had 1.5 blocks, while Shayleigh Shriver had three aces. Maddy Henninger had 16 assists for Valley in the win.
Tennis Team Edged By Zebras
The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team lost a 3-2 final to Rochester in Three Rivers Conference play.
The Zebras won both doubles matches to take the TRC win.
Trevor Neeley led the Vikings with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
Keith Wright posted the other win for Valley with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 decision at No. 2 singles.
Nick Caudill lost in straight sets at No. 3 singles for the Vikings. The No. 1 doubles team of Dakota Parker and Seth Hoffman and the No. 2 duo of Eric Wright and Kane Steller also lost in straight sets.
Alex Kromkowski won in junior varsity singles play for Valley. Winning in JV doubles action were the teams of Keegan Larimer and Chris Schipper and Dylan Sponseller and Garett Feldman.
Golfers Drop One To Bremen
Victoria Biddle earned medalist honors for the Valley girls golf team in a loss to Bremen Monday.
Biddle shot a 47 to take top honors in the match played at the Round Barn Golf Course in Rochester.
Bremen shot 200 as a team, while the Vikings came in at 236.
Liz VanMeter finished with a 58 and Lexi Cumberland a 65 for Valley. Blake McBrier had a 66, while Jordan Krotke shot 73, Jade VanMeter 76 and Brianna McBrier 77.
Valley, now 8-11, will face John Glenn on Tuesday back at Round Barn.
