Great Reviews For Dixie Boat This Year
NORTH WEBSTER — The Dixie Sternwheeler, touted as Indiana’s oldest stern wheel paddle boat, has received high reviews this summer from riders.
An email from Robert “Cap’N Bob” Barnes urges Dixie fans to visit Tripadvisor and read for themselves the comments riders have left.
“It’ll make you proud of what you do to keep the magic and heritage of this wonderful, historic vessel alive, afloat, and in the hearts of so many grateful riders,” Barnes said in his email.
The Dixie takes passengers on an hourlong, leisurely cruise around Webster Lake, with a narrated history of many points of interest, from the first Dixie’s final resting place to famous gangsters’ hangouts. A ride costs $7, which goes back to Dixie Sternwheeler Inc. for maintenance and upkeep on the boat.
