WARSAW — There are many great service clubs in Warsaw and Kosciusko County. Each has their own admirable mission and many raise money for kids programs.
Though there are many, the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, which meets at 7 a.m. every Wednesday morning, is the largest service club in Kosciusko County with nearly 100 weekly attendees.
It was recently learned that the Club is not only the largest Optimist Club in Kosciusko County, the State of Indiana, but is also ranks sixth internationally, according to Optimist International.
This is great news for the City of Warsaw, because it identifies the community as being a compassionate community and having great givers to children’s charities and programs. Through various fundraising activities throughout the year, including art in the park; cruise-in to downtown Warsaw; youth oratorical contest; golf outing; respect for law; hoops for hope; spooktacular; and Santa house, the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club raises and donates over $28,000 to children’s activities in the local community.
It was also named the 2013 Heart of Gold recipient awarded by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
