Boy Scouts Reorganizing In Milford
MILFORD — Officials from Anthony Wayne Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and representatives of the Milford Lions Club have announced there will be Cub Scouts in Milford this year.
According to Jim Molebash, field director for the Anthony Wayne Area Council, a number of volunteer leaders for the Milford Cub Scout pack are not able to continue in their leadership roles this fall.
“This has caused many to believe Cub Scouting will not happen in Milford this year,” said Molebash. “This is simply not the case. We will reorganize with the help of the Milford Lions Club and leaders from the local Boy Scout troop.”
Milford Lions Club is the local organization chartered by the Boy Scouts of America to operate Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting in Milford. Troop 747 is the Boy Scout troop chartered to the Lions Club.
Current plans include holding a meeting with the parents of current Cub Scouts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the John Kline Welcome Center at Camp Mack and a “Scout Joining Night” beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the Milford School cafeteria.
The $15 cost for joining the troop includes registration through January 2016 and a subscription to Boy’s Life magazine.
