Tippecanoe Valley Sports Wrap – Sept. 17
The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team lost to host Culver Academy and Rochester in action Thursday evening.
CGA won the match with a 166, while Rochester shot 219 and Valley finished at 242.
Lauren Read of CGA was medalist with a 35.
Victoria Biddle posted the top score for the Vikings with a 47.
Jade VanMeter shot a 57 and Blake McBrier a 61 for coach Darren Parker’s squad. Lexi Cumberland had a 64, while Jordan Krotke shot 70 and Makayla Sandbakken 76 for Valley.
Valley concludes the regular season with a record of 8-14.
The Vikings will compete in the Warsaw Sectional on Saturday at the Stonehenge Golf Club. Valley is scheduled to begin play at 11:50 a.m.
Football C Team Loses
The Valley football C team lost 12-8 to Whitko.
Jonathan Fields led the Vikings with 13 rushes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Alex Morrison had 11 carries for 63 yards and led the team in kick return yardage. Harrison Vining scored a two-point conversion and Dwight Conley had a reception.
Jonathan Daily led the defense with 11 tackles and Jameson Baker had nine. Austin Vining had eight stops and Conley seven.
Valley, now 0-4, will play at Manchester on Sept. 24.
Volleyball Team Stops Squires
The Valley volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over Manchester in Three Rivers Conference play.
Abby Betten slammed down 11 kills as the Vikings stopped the Squires 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
Sophie Bussard had 11 digs and Maddy Henninger 18 assists for the winners.
The foursome of Betten, Bussard, Madison Miller and Shayleigh Shriver each had one ace for Valley.
Valley improvs to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play with the victory.
