Cross Country Teams Compete At West Noble Invite
The Whitko boys cross country team battled windy, rainy, and muddy conditions to finish 21st out of 22 scoring teams at the West Noble Invitational. Josh Wright paced Whitko with his time of 18:43. Logan Busz (19:55.30), Zack Freel (20:56.43), Ezra Miller (21:34.18) and Kort Gebert (25:08.70) rounded out the times for the Wildcats.
Unfortunately the girls were unable to score team points, as their fifth runner remains out with an injury.
Brigit Nemitz finished the course in 21:39.14, placing her 35th overall. Suzanne Sickafoose (22:46.38), Hanna Yohe (24:08.12) and Lizz Foutz (26:24.52) gave Whitko its final three times.
The Wildcats will run Wednesday night at Rochester.
North Miami Shuts Out Wildcats
The Whitko girls soccer team was blanked in league play Saturday. North Miami denied eight shots from Whitko to hold on for a 4-0 win. Wildcat senior keeper Ilyssa Bennett records eight saves for the game.
Whitko (2-7) will host Garrett on Monday.
