Patricia J. Wenger
Patricia J. Wenger, 84, of Nappanee, died at 12:13 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at IU Health Goshen Hospital under care with IU Goshen Hospice.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1930, in Nappanee to Everett “Bag” and Charlotte (Price) Pippen. On Sept. 25, 1953, she married Richard Wenger in the First Brethren Church in Nappanee. He preceded in death April 28, 2005. Pat was a 1949 graduate of Nappanee High School and attended Ball State University.
She was a lifetime area resident except from 1975-1984 when the Wengers lived in Blytheville, Ark. She worked for Wa-Nee Schools as a reading aide and assistant in the LRC. Pat and her husband owned Fred’s Flowers from 1984-1993. She was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church and was a former member of First Brethren Church where she played the organ for 35 years. She was also the church secretary at Clear Lake Baptist Church in Arkansas when they lived there.
Surviving are her daughters: Beth Mishler, Nappanee; Susie Farmwald, Goshen; son: Robin Wenger, Nappanee; grandchildren: Jason (Heather) Mishler; David Mishler; Sarah Farmwald; Zach Farmwald; great-grandchildren: Hallie and Braxton Mishler; Colton Farmwald; and a brother: John (Linda) Pippen, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Helen “Butch” Elliott.
Mrs. Wenger is being cremated and inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Union Center Cemetery followed by a visitation for family and friends from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Pastor Don Rohrer will officiate.
