TinCaps Celebrate Unbelievable Season
FORT WAYNE – The 2015 Midwest League season came to a close on Monday night, as the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) defeated the Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins) in Game 5 of the best-of-five MWL Championship Series. Although the TinCaps were eliminated by the Whitecaps in the Eastern Division Semifinals, it was still one of the most successful seasons in Fort Wayne franchise history in a number of ways.

· TinCaps Grounds Crew named Midwest League Grounds Crew of the Year
· Team nominated by the Midwest League as a finalist for Minor League Baseball’s John Henry Moss Community Service Award

· Averaged the third most fans per game among 100 Single-A/Rookie League clubs, while outdrawing 11 of 30 Triple-A teams and 26 of 30 Double-A teams
· Franchise record for single game attendance (9,193 fans on the Fourth of July)
· 402,889 fans overall, marking the sixth time in seven seasons that Parkview Field has drawn 400,000-plus fans

· Made the Midwest League Playoffs for a seventh consecutive season — longest active playoff streak among Minor League Baseball’s 160 teams
· 77-61 record (.558 winning percentage) — third best overall record in franchise history
· 45-25 record in second half — tied for second most wins in a half in franchise history
· 13 more wins in the second half than the first half — greatest increase in wins from first half to second in franchise history, eclipsing previous mark of nine
· Second half Eastern Division division title — fifth division title in franchise history and first since 2009
· 46 home wins — tied for the third most in Minor League Baseball this year
· Franchise record for most consecutive home wins (17 from July 17-Aug. 27)
· Franchise record for most walk-off wins (11)
· Tied franchise record for longest overall winning streak (10 from Aug. 8-19)
· Tied franchise record for most hits in an inning (9 in the third inning in Game 2 of a doubleheader vs. Clinton on June 14)
