The Party Shop Hosts Fundraiser For Joe’s Kids
WARSAW — Alongside the recent release of iDNA’s new book, “Joe Journeyman,” The Party Shop in Warsaw will be hosting a fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 3. The shop will be working in conjunction with iDNA, Warsaw, to raise money for Joe’s Kids Foundation through utilization of the book.
iDNA and local artist Jed Bruce collaborated to create “Joe Journeyman,” a “Where’s Waldo?” type book. The story focuses on fictional character Joe Journeyman and his participation with 32 different NFL teams. Children can scour the pages of the book, which features varying landscapes themed around NFL teams, for Joe Journeyman.
The Party Shop and iDNA are hoping that the fun children find between the pages of “Joe Journeyman” might allow them to help other kids in need. The book, which was partially created to raise money for Joe’s Kids, a local nonprofit organization that helps children with physical or mental disabilities, will be one of many items available for purchase at the fundraiser held on Oct. 3. By tying the even’t theme to “Joe Journeyman,” The Party Shop hopes to be able to host a fun event that helps the local community.
“We really loved the idea because of the local connection,” said Dave Hamrick, of Party Shop. “We will have guys dressed up as Joe Journeyman, and his turtle-friend Ted. We’ve carried other products from iDNA, and with Joe’s Kids being so close, it just fits really well.”
Though “Joe Journeyman” is a major focus of the event, Hamrick notes many other items will be available for purchase with partial proceeds going to Joe’s Kids. Items featured will range from puzzles to posters, canvas art and more.
In addition to benefitting Joe’s Kids, Hamrick notes some of the proceeds will also be given to Feed My Starving Children, an initiative the helps give food to those in need.
The event will take place throughout the duration of The Party Shops hours, which will be from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m on Oct. 3.
The Party Shop is located at 3418 Lake City Highway, Warsaw. To learn more about Joe Journeyman, visit his website at www.joejourneyman.com. To learn more about Joe’s Kids, visit www.joes-kids.org.
