Betty L. Stutzman
Betty L. Stutzman of Nappanee passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was 89.
Betty was the greatest bestower of fun and adventure on all who knew her. She ice skated like a pro, was a talented seamstress and quilter, voracious reader and worked extra challenging crossword puzzles. She listened to older relatives tell their immigrant stories and compiled them, with photos, into family archives. Their shared experiences were the impetus for the independence she cultivated for herself and expected from her children. She had a tailoring business that paid for summers in the mountains of New Mexico. She made friends easily and kept them the duration of her life. She was the most beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Now that she is off on a new adventure, she will be missed dearly.
