Glam Celebrates One Year With Flair
WARSAW — Nearly a year has passed since Glam opened its doors in downtown Warsaw and owner, Michelle LeDrew, plans to celebrate in style.
Set for Saturday, Oct. 24, Glam’s one-year anniversary will take up the entire street, complete with a pink runway and models of all ages — Glam’s own employees and clients — showcasing Glam’s 2015 fall and holiday collection.
Black and white cocktail attire is encouraged, though not required, for the formal night out. While the event is open to all ages, those age 21 and older will be invited to take part in a champagne toastto kick off the evening. An appetizer buffet, signature cocktails, cash bar and a specialty coffee drink will be available.
LeDrew has invited several local businesses to take part in the event. One Ten will provide the appetizers, Oak & Alley will provide the signature cocktail and Latte Lounge will donate a specialty coffee drink. The food, cocktail and coffee are being created exclusively for Glam’s event.
Expressions Salon and Day Spa will provide trendy, high-fashion hair and makeup looks for the runway show. Melissa Jordan photography will capture the evening.
In addition, LeDrew plans to donate 10 percent of sales that evening to a Hello Gorgeous!, a local charity providing red-carpet experiences for women battling cancer.
LeDrew reflected on the past year and the success Glam has seen so far.
“It has been such a positive experience moving back to my hometown to open Glam,” LeDrew said. “The community has been so supportive and for that, I’m so appreciative.”
Glam has also begun hosting one or two events each month for customers, each with refreshments and special guests. Last month, Glam hosted Mimosa and Makeup.
With one year under her belt, LeDrew looks forward to even bigger and better things in the next 12 months. She would like to focus on the services side of her business, like wardrobe inventories, personal shopping, fashion workshops and presentations. In 2012, LeDrew was invited to be the closing speaker at the Pentagon for the spouses of the highest-ranking military officers during the annual General Office Symposium. LeDrew plans to offer similar presentations and workshops for businesses throughout the state.
She would also like to expand and put the building’s upstairs to use for special-occasion apparel, like prom dresses, cocktail attire and mother-of-the-bride dresses.
While Glam has enjoyed success during its first year, LeDrew does not take all of the credit for herself.
“I would be remiss not to mention my staff,” she said. “They believe in my vision in providing a boutique experience from the moment our clients walk through the door. It’s a special experience and we take a lot of pride in it. I’m also so grateful for our clients who have supported me in this downtown venture. I truly feel like Im’ doing exactly what I was called to do; I’m living my dream.”
