Kind McDonald’s Employee Feeds Disabled Man
CHICAGO — One woman in the Chicago area is asking for people to share a random act of kindness that she recently witnessed in a McDonald’s restaurant.
Destiny Carreno posted a photo of two men at a McDonald’s in Union Station in Chicago on her Facebook page on Sept. 16, but it’s the story itself that is making news now.
Carreno explains that the man seated in the photo is disabled and being fed by a McDonald’s cashier identified only as Kenny.
“The man politely tried to ask the cashier something and it took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying ‘Help me, please,’” said Carreno. “Neither of us knew what he needed, and the cashier suggested a few things before he figured out the gentleman needed help cutting and eating his meal.”
The witness was shocked when the cashier closed down his register-right in the middle of a rush-washed his hands and put gloves on.
“The cashier came out of the kitchen, sat down and began cutting the man’s meal and helped him eat,” said Carreno.
She went on to praise the cashier’s act of kindness and said Kenny’s willingness to help go “above and beyond” his job was the “kindest and most humble thing I had ever seen.”
