Lana I. Miner
Lana I. Miner, 98, Warsaw, formerly of Etna Green, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, at 11:30 a.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw.
Lana was born March 10, 1917, in Whitley County to Edgar and Minnie (Snodgrass) Smith. She has been a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Pierceton High School, 1935, and then attended International Business College. Lana was a homemaker and was bookkeeper for Miner Plumbing and Heating, which she and her husband operated for many years serving the rural areas of Etna Green. She also had worked before marrying at Farnsworth Company of Ft. Wayne, where she was able to see the first TV projected from one room to another. She was a past member of the ONO Club and Mary Tones Home Ec Club both of Etna Green; she was a very faithful member of the Etna Green United Methodist Church and she enjoyed her family who will greatly miss her and
On Dec. 31, 1941, she joined in marriage to Thomas Lowell Miner. He preceded in death June 18, 1992. Surviving is her daughter, Donna (Joe) Kintzel, Warsaw; her son, Wayne (Serita) Miner, Foley, Ala; three grandchildren: Jim (Aimee) Kintzel, Myles (Melissa) Miner and Travis (Angela) Miner; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Evelyn Sellers and a brother, Eldon Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, and for one hour before services in the church Friday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in Etna Green United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating.
Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions to Etna Green United Methodist Church in her memory.
