South Shore Could End Service Jan. 1
SOUTH BEND – The South Shore Line could be suspending service come Jan. 1.
According to General Manager, Michael Noland, railroads will be required to have a new safety system called ‘Positive Train Control” or PTC by Jan. 1.
Noland says an estimate to install the system onto the South Shore is close to $120 million. Money he says they won’t have before the deadline.
