Goshen Issues Timeline For Mascot Transformation
GOSHEN – The process for finding a new mascot for Goshen High School is starting to take shape as the athletic department issued a timeline for this month’s procedures. The school corporation is dropping the term/mascot “Redskins” in lieu of a new direction.
From now until October 4, submissions of mascot name ideas will still be taken at [email protected] or be delivered to the Welcome Centers at Goshen Middle School or Goshen High School.
Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Mascot Steering Committee will screen submissions and reduce the number of names to approximately 20 choices.
Thursday, Oct. 8, GMS and GHS students will vote to narrow the list to approximately 5-7 choices.
Friday, Oct. 9, Finalists will be announced.
From Friday, Oct. 9, to Monday, Oct. 12, additional artwork and logos for the remaining names can be submitted to [email protected] or be delivered to the Welcome Centers at Goshen Middle School or Goshen High School.
Wednesday, Oct. 14, the Logistics Sub Committee will meet to review logos and will recommend 1-3 logos with each mascot name finalist.
Sunday, Nov. 1, professional drawings will be returned.
Goshen plans to institute the new mascot and artwork for its winter programs Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.
