Artlink’s Crosswalk Murals Fully Funded by Amplify Art!
FORT WAYNE — Crosswalk Murals on the Arts Campus will soon be a reality thanks to a new local crowdfunding platform called Amplify Art!
The Crosswalk Murals are one of four projects that are currently featured on the Arts United Amplify Art! web page from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Amplify Art! is a social crowdfunding platform started by Arts United in 2015 to turn up the volume on local art and culture projects in Northeast Indiana. It showcases local arts and culture projects and anyone can donate to a project or spread the word on social media.
Executive Director of Artlink Contemporary Art Gallery, Amber Foster shares, “We are so excited to be one of the projects selected for Amplify Art. Our crosswalk murals will act as a springboard for more public art in our community, and we can’t wait to add vibrancy to our already beautiful arts campus.”
Artlink, with local artists Adam Garland and Nate Utesch, will design and install two crosswalk murals on the downtown arts campus. Adam and Nate will each receive a stipend to design a crosswalk this fall. Artlink has extended their goal to $3,400 in hopes to fund a third crosswalk mural.
With 20 days left in the campaign, there’s still time to fund the three other projects that are currently vying for community support on the Amplify Art! web page. To date, nearly 100 gifts have been made to the projects, totaling over $9,500.
