WHS Choral Department Presents Fall Concert
SYRACUSE — Wawasee High School Choral Department will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 for general admission. Children 5 and under are admitted free.
The eighth-grade choirs from Wawasee Middle School and Milford Middle School will be joining the high school choirs for the concert. They will be performing “Wake Me Up” and “Someone Like You.” Wawasee Middle School eighth-grade choir is directed by Hope Bechtel and the Milford eighth-grade choir is directed by Peg Zimmerman.
At the high school level, the beginning chorus will entertain the audience with “Sun Don’t Set in the Mornin,’” “When You Believe” and “Singin’ In the Rain.”
The advanced chorus girls will be singing “I Am the River,” “Reflection” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree.”
Vocal Motion will be singing and dancing to “Dance With You Tonight,” “Spirit of Adventure,” “What a Wonderful World” and “The Walker.” Dance captains for the group are Allyson Weaver and Ethan Wright.
This year is also the first time this group has officially competed. The group will be in competition at Bellmont High School in January and at Huntington High School in February.
“An American Celebration ” and “You Are the Light” will be performed by all of the combined choirs at the conclusion of the program.
Director of the high school choirs is Connie Meadows. Choreographer for Vocal Motion is Damon Brown.
