Donna Elaine Baker Sayler Sargent
Donna Elaine Baker Sayler Sargent, 65, Nappanee, fell asleep in the hands of our Lord at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1950 in Grantsville, W. Va., to Daniel and Geraldine (Richards) Baker. She moved to the Nappanee area in 1998. She was a 1968 graduate of North Miami High School. Donna loved her animals and flowers, especially the amaryllis. She was a member of the Healing Hearts Church in Nappanee, and was especially close to her Amish friends. She married Robert Sargent on Aug. 27, 1987, in Monticello.
He survives, as well as sons: Michael James Sayler; Russell Edward Sayler, Monticello; several grandchildren; nieces; nephews; sisters: Deb (Daniel) Klimes; Patty (Chuck VanSchoyck) Fry, Logasnport; and Darlene (Jay) Hill-Meyermann, Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Timmy Sayler; and brother: Richard “Rick” Baker.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery.
