AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School 8th grade volleyball team won a tournament Saturday.

The squad beat Whitko and Peru each 2-0 in round robin play and then defeated Peru again by a 2-0 final by scores of 25-13, 25-20 in the championship match.

The Valley 7th grade team beat Peru 2-0 and lost to Whitko 2-1 in round robin play in the tourney. Valley then lost 2-1 to Peru in single-elimination play. Whitko won the 7th grade tourney title.

The Valley teams then went 1-3 versus Rochester on Monday night.

Rochester won the 7th grade A match 25-16, 25-23 and the B match 25-14. Rochester also won the 8th grade A match 25-21, 25-23. Valley won the 8th grade B match 25-18.
