Kip Tom Raises $153,000 For Third Congressional District Race
LEESBURG — Leesburg farmer and businessman Kip Tom will report raising more than $153,000 in the first 25 days of his campaign for Indiana’s Third Congressional District.
“The response we’ve received from Hoosiers in the first weeks of this campaign has been overwhelming,” Tom said. “Hoosiers agree Congress needs more conservative citizen legislators who have created jobs, met a payroll, and helped improve their communities, and fewer career politicians.”
Ninety-seven percent of Tom’s contributions came from individuals. In addition, 98 percent of Tom’s contributions are designated for the primary election and do not include any loans or contributions from the candidate.
The campaign will report having more than $144,000 cash on hand at the close of the filing period.
About Tom
A life-long resident of Kosciusko County, Tom grew up on his family’s farm in the community his ancestors homesteaded in 1837. As one of Indiana’s larger grain commodity production businesses, Tom Farms has become a leader in agriculture and seed corn production, operating across seven counties in Indiana. He led the growth of Tom Farms and created jobs in northeast Indiana with hard work and by employing sound business principles and new technologies.
Since 2005, Tom has worked to bring good-paying jobs to Indiana as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels and serving under both Daniels and Gov. Mike Pence, Tom has been an important leader in Indiana’s economic growth efforts that have broken records for job creation and attraction nearly every year.
