IPFW Gene Marcus Piano Competition
FORT WAYNE — IPFW will be holding a piano competition in January 2016.
The Gene Marcus Piano Competition is a prestigious event open to children up to 18 years of age and the winners could receive cash prizes as well as scholarships to the Gene Marcus Camp held in June.
Senior class winners could win an IPFW Department of Music scholarship.
The competition will be held at the John and Ruth Rhinehart Music Center on the IPFW campus and a winners recital will be broadcast on northeast Indiana’s public television station PBS39.
Applications for the competition are due by Saturday, Dec. 19 and the first round of live auditions will be held Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9 and 10. Applicants are allowed to submit video auditions. The full listing of requirements for this version of an audition can be found on the website.
The final round of auditions will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30.
