Rosemary E. Riemen
Rosemary E. Riemen, 76, of Big Lake, died at 1:29 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne after suffering a severe stroke Friday evening.
She was born Sept. 17, 1939 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of John S. and Moness (Tagtmeyer) Hooper. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. She graduated from Central Catholic High School.
On April 29, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Riemen. They made their home in Fort Wayne until moving to their home at Big Lake in 2001.
In 2001 she retired from North American Van Lines.
She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Bob; three children, Robert E. Riemen Jr. of Big Lake, Kenneth J. Riemen and Jacqueline E. Moring, both of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Anthony Riemen, Toni Campbell, Sarah Erotas, Rachel Bobay and Neil Schall; nine great grandchildren; and five siblings, Patricia Pappert of Fort Wayne, Ruth Whitmer of Angola, Susan Eastes of Fort Wayne, Donald Hooper of Columbia City and Carolyn Itt of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John “Jack” Hooper, Raymond Hooper and James Hooper; and a sister, Virginia Blake-Hedges.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 South Line St., Columbia City with one hour of visitation prior. The visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday.
